Pushrod length

Im puttin in a cam and all that good stuff. With this roller cam and roller lifters i need shorter push rods. its an edelbrock cam, and i am gettin comp roller lifters. Edelbrock told me they use 7.122" pushrods, and comp told me 7.178" I dont know if that little difference would matter. I was thinking about just going between those two with a 7.150" pushrod. I know there is a little tool to check i was just wondering if anyone had already done this to therir car. It a chevy 350 cam has 539 lift and 296 adv. duration. I am retro fitting a non roller block with all roller stuff. Thanx!
Bob

I would go with Comp's recommendation. The lifter will dictate the necessary pushrod length, not the cam lobe.

Find the tool and do it right. There are adjustable pushrods or the plastic piece that you slide down the stud and ck the length.

I used a mild Crane cam, stock heads and shaved the block .020. Put on Crane roller rockers and checked and my stock pushrods were .100 too long for that setup. Anyway, don't skimp now and take a chance. Taking a good guess won't cut it.
