Pushrod tubing diameter

The pushrod tubing diameter on a sbc is 5/16 right? Just making sure

OEM is 5/16s, performance option is 3/8s. Ends are the same for either. If passing thru a guide which will happen for all except self guided rockers, the tubes must be hardened for wear resistance.

Stocker yes 5/16, but you can use bigger depending on you needs right on up thru 7/16 if necessary. Pushrod length and diameter are directly related to pushrod deflection under load - high lift & pressure. Using the stiffest pushrod is always your best move.
