Putting back together front suspension

What is the correct sequence for putting back together the front suspension on a 69 camaro. I've got the whole thing torn apart and everything is rebuilt ready to go back together and now I am having problems installing the control arms. The chassis assembly manual suggest building a part to help raise the lower arm into place with the spring being compressed by a floor jack. This seems a little unsafe. Is there a better way of doing this. Can someone direct me to a site where it outlines front suspension installation.

When I did my 67 I had to disassemble a coil spring compressor and put all the parts inside the spring through the lower control arm shock opening. Then assemble the compressor in the spring and compress it. It was a real pain but thats how my book said to do it and it worked very well.

NO! You can do. I put an aftermarket one in after my suspension was all back together. It came with instructions and I cant recall every detail. I do know that the front wheels have to come off and you kinda have to weave the sway bar in. You will figure it out now that you know it is doable. It would have been a piece of cake before the springs though.

When I put my sway bar in I had to take out one lower control arm bolt and raise the engine a bit. But my sway bar was a 1 1/4 and my factory was a 5/8.
