putting carburetor on 1984 Chevy caprices

i just recent rebuild a 305 and was going to put the rochester q jet back on and i dont know how to can someone tell me step by step on how to install it

hey,

Look through this thread for specifics:

Rochester Quadrajet 4MV Carburetor: Removal, Disassembly, Rebuild (Rookie Level)

Basically 4 bolts or nuts, a fuel line, some vacuum lines, throttle linkage et cetera.

Does this help any?

If you could rebuild the engine then im sure you can bolt a carb on top of it just make sure you dont drop anything into the manifold. Theres been a few threads lately about that. Apparently some people think that a nut will pass through the engine and come out the tail pipe! Hahaha.

Is this a CCC computer controlled Q-jet? If so, you need to get a factory service manual and follow the adjustment instructions EXACTLY. This system runs great if it's adjusted properly, but most people won't take the time so they run like crap.

i agree with bigdog7373, just don't drop anything to the manifold. just be careful in putting carb on top of it dude. oh by the way, there are some threads here in this forum that can help you out!
