putting lettering on rubber mudflaps??

Hello

Got a set of mudflaps that i wanna put my buddys business sign on it. I was told that custom vinyl wont stick. Think if i cut out lettering and stick it on em and spray em with paint itl work?
Any ideas? Tnx hg

I think your best shot would be to have the sign printed on a solvent ink jet printer on a good outdoor vinyl like 3m or avery (this gives you full color capability as well). Have them laminate it with a very tough laminate and if you can have them mount them on your flaps. A good sign shop will have a pinch roller set up for this. They can also treat the flap with I forget now but it will help the adhesion.
