Q J Choke problem

I am having QJ problems with my 85 Chevy truck. I've been through several posts and cannot find this exact problem. I have three Qjet carburetors. One is a computer controlled carburetor. The other two are regular Qjets without electric choke. I would like to use one of these carburetors on my truck now. I've recently changed over to a performer intake and non-computer HEI. I know I can't use one of them because it's the computer controlled one. One of the other two is missing some choke parts. The third one is missing the little spring thing that goes on the intake manifold. I do have the spring off of a two barrel manifold and the choke rod. Will these work? If not, can I make the carburetors manual choke just using a choke cable to open up the choke from inside the truck? If I remove the choke mechanisms from the sides of the carburetors, will they work? If this is not feasible, I have a 750 Holley DP that I know is too big, but can I jet it down with 600 Holley DP jets? Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to the board. You are new so don’t know the ins and outs yet. This forum is intended for general introductions only. Tech questions posted here don’t get the coverage they deserve. Repost your question in the proper forum and it will have a good chance of being answered.

The automatic choke mechanism from the 2-bbl should work OK on the 4-bbl and yes you can convert it to manual choke as long as you can get the proper stroke and have a place to anchor the cable.
