Q jet problem....

Well my Q jet is sweet when my motors warmed up.. i noticed when i went to work the morning after putting on my Q jet it didn't wana move.. started good.. but as soon as i let the clutch out and put a load on the motor it would stall.. so gota sitt there at 4 in the morning warming up my straight pipe truck.. then finally when its drivable it surges.. then pops.... does that till its fully warmed up.. from wut i remember my ol 85 camaro had this problem.. but it would move at least.. then it poped then it was all good to go after that.. i don't like sitting around in the mornings.. just like to start it and go.. is this just how the Q jets are?? or is somethin wrong with mine?? i just rebuild it.. i think it needs some tuning also....gona try to adjust the secondary flaps today.. make sure the spring tension is opening properly.. let me no if anyone else has dealed with this issue?? thanx

I don't think it has anything to do with your secondaries. If you are just letting the clutch out, you shouldn't even be touching the secondaries. They are vacuum operated.

What is your idle speed?

Its the choke.. with the engine off and cold try holding the butterflys open and turn the adjustment ring on the choke until the choke lightly closes this will get ya in the ball park .. also check the accelerator pump ..see if ya get a good steady shot of fuel...
