Quadrajet

I have a Quadrajet on a 85 262 V6. What if anything do I need to do to it to make it work on my 80 305 with a Big rv cam ported head's & a edelbrock performer intake I can see it has a electrical accelerator pump. can I retro it or rewire my 80 & if I can should I put bigger jets in for the 305. Any help would be greatly appreciated even though I think I would be better off a new one. Carb That is. what can I say I'am just trying to save some$

Itīs a Q Jet designed to be used with an ECM, you canīt do anything with it.
Best to get an earlier non feedback Q Jet.

BTW youīre in the wrong forum, this is Site Suggestions and help, all that pertaining to this website.
If you look there are a bunch of tech forums, this question should have been posted in Engine.

Its not an electrical acc pump, its idle mixture. It can't be converted to non-electric. You're better off just buying a Qjet. Getting one off a 305 will get you really close with jetting and tune. Rebuild it and run it.

Pretty much any pre-83 Qjet will work. 74 and later are slightly preferred, but all are great. Basically if the stamped number starts with 170 instead of just 70 and it doesn't have the electrical connections, you're good to go. Trucks are a good source, but make sure they have both ported and manifold vacuum sources. Many trucks only have manifold.

They should cost $25 from the junkyard (make sure the throttle shafts don't have too much play in them) and $20 for a rebuild kit.

83 was not the year, 80 was

80 was the year for chevy ESC/EST introduction

and 78 for some other divsions of GM, but real uncommon

and actually 74 and earlier are preferred for modification for performance, not the 75-up emissions ones

you have much research to do
