Quadrajet adjustment

I Replaced my carb. with a new one and when I kick it into passing gear it don't won't to come out until I let off the throttle. Can someone tell me how to adjust this?

Your kickdown cable needs a bit more slack in it............

On most GM kick down cables non overdrive, pull up the adjusting tab on the kick down cable, hold carb at WOT and pull cable lightly rear ward and then push the adjusting tab back down on the cable. This should get it close then test drive.
