Quadrajet welch plugs? supplier?

I read a post where someone said Dorman Products made welch plugs for the leaking Q-jet carbs.

Of course the local Carquest counter "boy", standing in front of a huge dorman display, said "i would have no idea how to look that up". He said check their website to get HIM a number I did, but nothing under "Quadrajet", or "carburator plug". There were over 600 "expansion plugs" listed, but you need to open each as a new page to get a size I don't know the sizes yet

Ok, so is there enough room to thread these holes for a short pipe plug? Or any other ideas?

Most here have said a sealer won't last if just smeared over the leaking plug, and I would not really want to try that.

Making your own threaded plugs is shown. I will give it a try.

Good info!

Cool! good info! Thanks for posting!

I have an Edelbrock Quadrajet so hopefully mine won't have that weakness?

That looks like an awesome book!

There are still some quad rebuilder experts around. I watched one take a carb apart so fast one time it made my head spin and he had new parts that I didn't know existed.

I rebuilt a few carbs, but this guy showed me why you should pay a pro.

Steve
