Quarter panel to rocker.

The bottom of my quarter panel sits on top of the rocker panel and is attached inside under the window assembly with spot welds. How did they do this and is it feasable to weld up the new quarter to the rocker on the outside thereby eliminating the seam (as seen from outside) from the back of the door to the front of the wheel opening. I can reach thru and plug weld a few spots on the inside also. This is a 1970 Skylark A-body.
Clint

I just finished putting rear quartera on a 68 A body and they are basicly the same.If you can get in there and tack it in a couple of spots thats all you need in that area.I wouldn't weld them on the outside on the seam.I see quite a few that has been done that way and it just doesn't look good.
