Question on 2000 Cadillac fuel pump
My wife's car is a 2000 Deville DHS with 135K. After going through 2 replacement gas caps I've finally figured out why we have Evap Emission Malfunction codes and the "check gas cap" warning all the time. Gas is leaking (almost pouring) from the fuel pump at the top of the tank. I'm going to pick up a gasket at the dealer tomorrow. The pump is accessed through a hole in the trunk.
Anyone ever heard of this before? How hard is the pump to remove? Will I have to disconnect the fuel lines from the pump and if so, will I need a special tool? Thanks! |
