question about a/c in 69 camaro

I recently received an a/c unit out of a 72 chevelle. The guy who gave it to me said that it will fit in a 69 camaro. I just want to verify that this is true before i have the car apart. If this is true, where can I get a walkthrough or diagram or something that tells me exactly what im going to need to do to install it? Thanks!

I believe SOME of the stuff will work......but not the firewall stuff......

I took a 69 Camaro with A/C (wrecked) and put everything in a non A/C 69 Camaro.....20 years ago....and I would NOT do it now for a thousand dollars....

DEUCE...

Alright, well as you assumed, the firewall part was way too big for it. We took it out of storage and measured it and it was quite a bit larger than the area we had to work with. Anyways, i now have one more question about this a/c bit... I am looking on the classic industries website and i see two ac evaporator core items...this

Air Conditioning Evaporator Core:

Factory replacement for often leaking or damaged originals. This core is located inside the suitcase assembly on the outer section of the firewall.

and this

Air Conditioning Evaporator Core Outlet Case:

Quality reproduction of the inner half of the air conditioning outlet case core box. A commonly broken item due to the replacement of an engine or the installation of headers. If your Camaro was originally equipped with A/C, you can almost count on the fact that your case assembly is either missing or damaged. Be sure to check the original for cracks or damage when replacing or repairing your air conditioning system. This item is more commonly known as the air conditioning suitcase assembly. Now available for 1967 through 1969 small block or big block models. Note: Outer half currently not available.

I am assuming that i need these two items... but this note at the end that says "outer half currently not available"...what part is it talking about? the part that goes under the fender? would i be able to just reuse the one from the chevelle a/c? Also, the actual core itself... is it the same size as the one in the chevelle? do you think i can maybe get away with just getting the box and reusing the core? Thanks guys!

Cheap stuff is NOT GOOD
and
Good stuff is not CHEAP........

The only pieces that I KNOW will work is the brackets to the engine and the A/C compressor....and it is most likely junk.....

All the inner vents and duck should be different.....and the controls.....

IF my memory serves me......the A/C 69 Camaros have a different dash pad too....

It was a major job and I had BOTH cars......
