Hi,
I am new to this forum and have found a lot of great information. I need to ask the painters out there a question. I am repainting my 1967 Triumph TR4A myself and am using a base coat/ Clear Coat finish. I am currently doing the underside of the hood using LIMCO 123 Base and a GT Select Clear Coat. This is a low cost base $35.00/quart paint. I am planning on using a higher grade paint for the outer surfaces to help with UV protection but that is down the pike..
My question is that I had sprayed the base over a gray primer and after spraying the clear (trying not to stick my #$#$ finger in it!!) I noticed a couple of spots that I didn't get good coverage and would like to respray.
Do I have to wetsand the area first or if I respray withing 24 hours can I just mix up some base and touch it up?
