$2100 to Maaco??????
Eyesight is 2nd thing to go with old age, so just checking! Most Maacos the urethane upgrade means they put a better hardener in the Nason acrylic enamel. Slim chance they really did use a urethane. If the primer you put on did not lift it, then its compatible. As far as stripping, it needed stripping when it left Maaco if not before it got there. Last edited by BarryK; 10-22-2004 at 05:54 PM. |

yea, 2,100.00 at maaco, i about fell over also. Its pretty sad to pay all that money and here less than 4yrs later i am redoing it.
The few pieces i have done already were stripped down to bare mateal. fenders and hood). Now im working on the doors and trunk. Since im changing colors i was thinking about just spraying over the door jambs and underside of trunk because they look good. |

Maaco Paint.
I worked at a Maaco store in the midwest a few years ago. We used Sherwin Williams paint. Just before I left, they were in the process of switching to Akzo Nobel. Bottom line was cost, and the franchise owner was pinching pennies, thus the change. Hope it helps.

if i try to paint over it will i see problems right away, like in a few seconds top days or will it be a long term problem like in a year? the way im spraying the rest of the stuff is etching primer high build primer sealer base coat clear coat |
