question about what you think should be done to 17k resto

do you think it should cover stripping, rust, and be primed twice? yes or no answer.

it depends on the vehicle.
is it rare?
does it need a $1200 windshield for instance?
leather and teak interior?

this is just to take parts off, strip, fix rust, body and paint. I took the glass out myself so no glass guy had to come.

Just wondering the average costs of things and what different people think they should get for their money. Just curious, that's all.

It is a semi rare car and for that fact I think it's a no brainer to do a good job on it.

17 K sounds reasonable for the work you described. Time and materials, I am assuming? One of the better painters in my area charges 10k for no disassemble, no re-assemble, just body work and paint. My buddy brought his 42 Ford to him, fenders off, parts stripped, guy had it for a week, 3 guys working on it full time, I thought it was a good deal. The car is gorgeous.

17k it better be a show winner.. I'm guessing here, but you being in cali. it doesn't have much rust..
you didn't say replacing panels.. so 17k is 1st place show winning paint..
with not a flaw to be found..

Sounds a bit steep to me, of course it mostly depends on how much rust ,body work, and prep needs to be done,,, kind of a open end Question,,
