question on brake shoes

bought a truck that has problem with back up only
when you back up it only goes about 30 feet when the truck seems
to just stop on it's on accord .
keep on the gas and off the clutch it keeps going in reverse , but
it's like the brake is on .
all gears and bearings ok in rear ,even the spider gears ,checked them all today.
axle bearings look good also .
trans not it ,does fine on jack stands .
the brake shoes are new , but noticed the front short pad shoes are thin .
the back large pad is thicker .
both pads are tapered at ends , not square cut .
all springs are good as new .drums are good in size also .
would the shoes be my problem ?
never seen shoes with different thickness in pads on them .

Did you check the e brake cables to make sure they ae fully released. Are you sure that all the hardware is assembled propery, especially the e brake hardware, I have seen a lot of weird stuff happen when its not. Poorly turned drums can also cause issues. Take a pic and post it if you can.

all in good shape on the cables and drums as stated early .
my photos won't shrink enough .
the pads are all i can see that are different .
i have two of these trucks the same year and investigated both side by side .
swapped drums and still problems occur .
bought new shoes for tomorrows cold day in here .
the new ones are same thickness ,short and long shoe , but not as thick as the ones on the rear shoe thats on the truck to begin with .
