Speaking of how things were really done in the 50's and 60's. Most of the "in" things we loved back then were only to be dreamed of since we were working after school for just enough money to buy gas. My first car was a 49 Morris Minor with a flathead v8 60 a neighbor had built, wrecked, and sold to me for 90 dollars. We went to the annual car show to see the neat things we could only dream of building. Many of the cars entered had aluminum foil on the windows and Angel Hair to cover the flaws but we thought they were the coolest things there ever was. I will guarantee you the average street rod or custom car today is better quality than 90% of the "show cars" we're then. The old school cars have caught on largely because the time, and money and effort it takes to build a quality car today is prohibitive for a young man trying to raise a family.
By the way. Can you still buy Angel Hair?
