Question on HEI rebuild

I haven't been able to find an answer to my question by searching so I am hoping you guys can help.

After disassembling my HEI distributor I find that the hinge pins for the weights are worn quite a bit. What are my possible solutions to fix this?

I would really like to replace the pins but can't find any.

Thanks for your help!

AND you won't find a replacement pin either! GM will gladly sell you a whole new dist. but that's it (been there, done that). Now the good news, if you go to the junk yard and pick up an early HEI (75 -77) their weight pins are hardened and don't wear like the newer ones. OR I've seen some after-the-market weights, where they have plastic bushings for the pin holes in the weights. I think "Mr. Gasket" puts these out ...I tried these too, but ended up in the junk yard looking for the early HEI dist. GOOD LUCK! ...Mark
