Question: HF HLVP KIT and epoxy primers from PPG and Omni

Hello, New to posting to this forum but been searching and reading advice on here for a little while. I have a question about epoxy primers. Will I be able to use this HF hlvp kit to spray either ppg DPxxLF or omni MP170 epoxy primer? http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=44677

Thanks in advance!

First it is very unlikely that gun would spray anything bigger then a starter, unless that cup is pressurized and unlikely at that price.

Next the gun is rated for house paints, so good chance automotive paints, epoxy included will melt seals and maybe even the plastic of the gun.

What do you mean by "a starter"?

Second, do not use that over priced, over hyped DPLF epoxy primer, it sucks for durability. Buy a two gallon kit from Southern Polyurethane for less than half of what you will pay for a gallon of PPG DP. The SPI epoxy goes on like milk and is like a coat of armor compared to PPG DP. I have first hand experience with both and I speak from actual use. The PPG cannot hold a candle to SPI as far as spray-ability and durability.

Disclaimer: To all the people who say too many of us on this forum push SPI too much. It is because we have used it and we know it is a better, cheaper alternative to the higher priced spread. I get no kickback or compensation of any sort from SPI.
