Question on LS1 starter current draw

I'm attempting to go to a continuous duty solenoid for a battery disconnect. I am wanting information on the amperage draw of a factory starter on the LS1 motors.

I wouldn't go with one that will only work with the amp. draw from the starter. I would go a little over-sized.

I work alot with master power switches (relays). Every vehicle in the Army has a relay for the master power switch. They are rated above what the batteries (anywhere from 2-8, wired in either series or series parallel) amperage will put out.

The oversized relays that we us provide longer life to the relays, occasionally you might see them fail, but when new vehicles come in with too small of relays they always burn up.

Just my 2 cents,
Eric
