Question: Paint

Hello, I am new to this forum and I have a couple paint questions.
I am presently sand my 1987 Mazda RX7 down to the factory paint. I plan to paint the bare metal spots with PPG DP-40. Than I was told to cover that with unthane primer/surfacer(what is a good brand that is cheap) but I plan to paint the car later. Will a 5hp 26 gallon compressor work to paint that. And what is a good Paint gun for beginner.

Thank you
Derek

Derek, Welcome to Hotrodders.com.......

if your still around, check out the KNOWLEDGE BASE

Go to the body section. try not to hurt yourself, it's alot to digest.

and if your gonna use ppg primer, you ought to use ppg paint.

do a search in this forum on 'spray guns' 'painting' or any other specifically related topic, and once again, try not to hurt yourself. a guy could get hurt trying to take that much in in one sitting. make sure to pace yourself.

I agree with crazy larry, you need to not mix paint brands.
