Clayton Machine Works sells premade trim in I think 3 and 6ft pieces. Just drill your mounting holes. But compared to making it yourself it can get pricey.

Your solution is the best and cheapest alternative, but........a lot of people can't rip the aluminum, and Clayton Machine Works doesn't even offer a simple straight piece of rounded trim like you are making. As far as I know, there is no supplier that does, and I have looked everywhere.
