I understand this is not the proper place to ask a question, however, I know nothing about cars and am in the process of buying a car. I have always questioned the safety of compact cars. And now am looking at a compact car. I have been searching for a site that will give me information and am hoping some of you can help me out. Okay, the question....I have found a 2002 Volvo S40. What does the wheelbase have to do with the safety of the car? The Volvo has side impact air bags, etc. the steel braces on the sides, etc. Those of you who know how to compare cars.....how does the 2002 Vovo S40 compare to the safety of the Honda Accord, Nissan Altima or Toyota Camry? Thanks soooo much for the help.
Welcome to the site harrietcj. :welcome: The Volvo has always been a leader in safety. That is not to say that the others are unsafe. I am sure there is a government website in the states that will give you safety rating on various cars. I don't know of a link but perhaps someone else here can help you.
My shop teacher would tell me if you get in a head on collision with a semi and get out to see if the semi driver was okay....you were driving a volvo.
