questions

So it has been my dream like many to have a rod..... I really wanted an old chevy panel truck but cant seem to find one i want as i want a plan black rat type rod to tear around and raise hell in!!!

I found this off the side of the rod.... I was told it was a 48 Huson but think its a 48 Merc..... I really have little know how on this stuff but have lots of friends willing to help and the use of the internet.... I am a pretty smart guy and have figured out a lot when i i really want to get something done....

my questions are is what does anyone think this car really is and i have a straight 6 with a 3 on the tree to put in it but not sure what would be easier to put in a car like this.... I want some speed but want to have fun to drive around as well....

any help would be nice

Engine is mild 383. 700r4 trans. S-truck rearend. Mine is a business coupe with no rear seat. Being a Michigan car, the floors were GONE. But it had all the chrome and body was straight. Spent many hours bending/fitting/welding 18 ga. sheetmetal for floor. Interior is not yet finished and body is in need of paint. Project is on hold at present. Till I get another one ( 59 Studebaker gasser) finished.

getting a title

A title depends on what state you are in, some are easy, others are next to impossible. There is a lot of info here on HR, go to the WIKI at the top of the page and do the search on how to title a hot rod. ETc get a bill of sale, if you are lucky the seller will have a title, Check with the DMV before handing over much money, or you might end up selling parts on EBAY.

Ditto what timothale said...

Also, if you end up without a title, keep receipts on everything you buy for it (Engine, Transmission etc.)
