questions about painting

I was wonder what would cause my paint to look like it has dimples in it. it is only in certain areas. I will wet sand it when it is dry and try to repaint the section again. BUt I was curious what causes the paint to do that

Sounds like your running out of air, Too low a pressure will cause a heavy texture...Are the trouble spots located where you were finishing up a coat?

Fisheyes look like small craters and are caused by contaminates on the surface or in the paint and even your air supply...but siliycone sprays can attach to dust particles and land on your fresh paint causing the same effect..once you start getting fish eyes it can be a mother to cure...Did you prep the job with a wax & grease remover ?
Do you have any filters on your air supply?

yrs it did happen where I was finishing up. no I didn't do any grease removal or wax either. I had the metal down to bare metal. then I primed it and I then gave the primer a light landing. then I painted. its only in 2 areas in the back. I guess I will try to sand it down and clean the area really well and see what that does. I will also check my pressure to make sure I have enough of that to. I bet I put my hand on it after I sanded it. cause its only in 2 spots

It sounds like your compressor wasnt able to supply enough air, resulting in a heavy texture but it should be able to spray the panels that need touch up just respray one or two panels at a time....Theres nothing much you can do now but in the future you should use a W&G to clean everything from metal to paint before spraying any material at all and read the directions you dont just wipe it on...Prep is everything with a paint job....
