1) Does stripping make a difference.
*If its a 90 or newer and just factory urethane no need.
*If its a 70-or 80 model say ford or Chrysler where it was factory enamel no need.
*If its a 85 or older GM where there is a good chance its lacquer, yes strip.
* Of course any car that has been painted a few times or one bad one may be a consideration.
* Any Restoration is always stripped.
Stripping does make some difference depending what is on the car but depending on what your are doing it may not be necessary. (More info, would really help, as this answer is like pissing up a rope))

2)Options to strip:
*Sand blasting
*aircraft striper.
*Sand paper such as 80 grit DA.
*Dipping

I think this is what you wanted????
If not let us know!

Factory faded lacquer.
That means what your not seeing is "crazing and or chicken feet"
Do strip it and an 80 grit DA may be the easiest way as the paint will be thin.
