Questions on setup of the 700r in 1984 Olds?

I need help, swapped me 96lt1 into my 84 olds.
had my pcm flashed so trans is turned off, installed
my 700 and toasted it. Got another 700 with more
questions.
1) I plan on using factory tcc solenoid, rewire to have
Constant 12v and ground. To lock my tc in 4th
Gear. Its all ready in 4th gear slot in valvebody.
Is this a good idea?

2) found the longest tv cable ever made. Custom
bracket made to fit. Key off, throttle wot, pull
cable, set. How to adjust?? Last trans had soft
Shifts.

If you're using the 4th Gear Pressure Switch to supply the -Ground to the TCC Solenoid it will work fine. It will lock the TCC as soon as it shifts into 4th Gear.
A few TCC Lockup diagrams:

700 install

okay i seen your link and it was very helpful, 2 greasy thumbs up. This is my theory for my set up, rewire the 4 gear switch (blue wires) to have constant power. keep the rest of the switches but dont alter them. maybe a toggle switch on the dash. So it should lock-up only in 4th gear Or i might use my after market switch to screw in the 4th gear outlet on the vavle body. was told that brand (superior solutions) was trash and factory is better, idk . The aftermarket switch has 2 prongs, kit name k013

*is factory better?
*do all switches need to be hooked up?
*can i skip the toggle switch and just wire into the ignition switch for constant 12v?? or do i need to manually turn it on??

thanks for helpn this is a bear of a project, im on youtube lt1 swap

Use a Brake Light switch from a vehicle that had Cruise Control or a Lockup TC Trans.
12V+ from Brake Light switch to Pin-A on Trans Plug, this will disengage the TCC Lockup when the Brake pedal is depressed.
You can Lockup the TCC in 2nd, 3rd & 4th Gear if you want, you'll have to use the correct Pr. switches.
I like to use a Toggle switch so I can turn off the Lockup around Town if needed. You can wire the Toggle or the 4th Pr. switch to supply the -Ground.

Nothing wrong with the Superior/Fairbanks Lockup Kits.
