Quick Change

Has anyone tried to put a "Halibrand" style quick change in a stock 1940 Ford?
The clearance between the extended quick change case and the bottom of the stock spring pearch doesn't look good for big bumps.

It's not good!!You'll need a model "A" spring, spread to mate up to your shackles.
