quick disconnect tranny lines

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram with the quick disconnect tranny lines. I purchased the tool to disconnect the lines. How do I reconnect them, do they just push back on, or do I use the tool to get them back on?

thanks

I wanted to know before I took them apart. Once I got the top one off and seen how they worked it was quite obvious. I thought the tool spread the seal open. Now that i have it apart I see that it only spreads the locking teeth open.
