Quick K&N Question
Hey guys, I just picked up a used k&n setup thats going on the holley in my camaro. Ive never used a k&n in an automotive application before, just my atv's and dirtbikes. After I clean it is it neccesary to buy the "Precharger" or whatever the hell the kit is that contains the oil for it after it is washed or can you simply just use it unoiled after it is cleaned. I know the oil is to stop dirt but is this necessary in a street car?
Thanks |

Un-oiled it will have approx. the same filtering ability capacity as a screendoor. Yes, oiling is neccesary. I've had K&N filters on a couple of my vehicles for several years, you can't believe how dirty they get, and I rarely get off the pavement.

I agree they need to have oil. Its not very expensive to purchase the kit and it comes with the proper soap for cleaning all the old dirt and oil off. For the price of the kit it will last you for a long time.
