Quick Question on Vortec Heads

Fellas, I got a 350cui Vortec motor (seller said it is off a '99 Suburban). I have been reading about a certain casting number one should avoid (casting number 10239906). Well, I found out I have that one! But my application for the engine is for a 1947 Chevrolet coupe and all for cruising on the highway. No racing or 1/4 mile deals....strictly for cruising. Would the type of heads I have going to ruin my project? Or, is it more for the high performance folks with Nova's, etc. Thanks a bunch...

Supposedly the 906 had some restrictions that kept it from flowing very well but according to Scoggins-Dickey Chevrolet that's all "hooey", it flows just as well as any other Vortec head.

I"m beign told the 906 head with hard exhaust seats reduce the low lift flow if not machined just right. It seems GM didn't care and went on producing these. That's why some do and others don't.depending wether you got them from GM production line or an aftermarket company or the salvage yard.
