wassup everyone i am new at this i have a question for the tech people......i have a 79 camaro i drag race and this past weekend after 3 passes down the track i had a lot of smoke coming out of the oil breathers on valve covers and i was just wonderin if ya might could help me

If you are running breathers on both valve covers you probably don't have a functioning PCV system. That's cause for a problem right there coupled with worn rings and a lot of blow-by equals a mess.

it could be head damage like valve guides

if this is a new occurance you have problems. If it's always done this a bit, I doubt it's that serious.

My rambler's motor does the same thing-blows oil out of both breathers on the valve cover (six popper) because I eliminated the PCV system. You just need to install a PCV system on your engine. There are usually vacuum ports on aftermarket intakes just so you can plumb one just like a factory setup, or you can purchase kits with vacuum pumps to eliminate the pressurizing of the crankcase. You should make a few more ponies too after eliminating the pressure on the backside of the pistons.
