rack & Pinion for GM front clip

A friend of mine has a GM clip ( Nova/Camero ) on a 50 Ford.
This is a front steer clip with the GM PS and steering linkage.
Can a rack & pinion steering be used on the clip? If so, what R&P can be used? Any help would be appreciated.
