rack & pinion steering

Trying to put a power rack & pinion in my 50 chevy two door coupe with the stock suspension and a 350 Chevy automatic. Has anybody ever done this before ?

PS .I am dying for an answer ! Or should I just keep my stock steering and be ordinary?
