rack problems
I have a 1940 Chevy street rod. It has a typical Mustang 2 front suspension. The rack is a bit sloppy off dead center. The tie rods, ball joints, et al are fine. It appears that the rack has an adjustment sleeve and lock nut. Anyone have any experience in adjusting a rack?
Thanks. |

Well, first you have to identify the rack type. If it is a FORD or TRW, there are special service tools used to adjust the lash. Cannot answer on any vendor rack.
..sheesh... CRS is a terrible thing... Check the steering coupling also. Last edited by KULTULZ; 04-08-2007 at 08:10 AM. Reason: CRS |

Thanks for the suggestions. The rack has "Ford" stamped on it. The u-joints are tight on the shafts.
