radiator fan clearance issues

Ok, i need some opinions and ideas here. I have a 55 chevy truck with bbc and billet specialties v trac setup. I am wanting to put in an aluminum radiator to finish off the overall finished look of the truck. In trying to keep with the original layout I have a PRC downflow polished aluminum radiator. The trouble comes in that it wont fit with the 16 in SPAL fan that it came with i need about 1 1/2" clearance more and the only fan the make to solve the problem only shows numbers of about 1300 cfm. Not willing to sacrifice cooling problems for looks and i dont think this is near enough fan for a big block from what ive heard but looking to get some opinions. I also saw this fan called the Sidewinder on THE FAN MAN site, has anybody seen one of them or have experience good or bad with that. I cant fit a pusher fan in the truck due to the a/c condenser is in front of the radiator and not enough room between the grille.

Two 14 inch electric puller fans will cool a big block with ease. You could probably use 2 12s or one big 18, if it will fit, also.

to do 2 fans the biggest i could do is about 10 in and they dont give me much more cfm either. As for the single fan that is the problem the only one that i have found that will fit is a spal 16" low profile which is just over 2" deep and that is all the room i have to play with but it only shows rating of 1300 cfm.

Try Cooling components inc . They have an 1 3/4 that will cool a 600hp Big block.
