Radiator flush - KOOL CLEAN, CLR , etc which best to use?

Have to attend to alot of debris in radiator on 67 cutlass w/330 and car has put up for a LONG time.

Was reading old message from Chuck about Kool Clean. Here info on that - quotes here -

" Basically similar to the product "CLR" without the soap so there is little foaming. Works like a charm and cleans head coolant cavities so clean you would think they were fresh cast.
Not cheap though. "

juveteach says :
"FOUND IT !!!!
You will have to call a company called THE CARE EXPRESS
@ 800-339-3880 and ask for item number # 25133, KOOL KLEAN.
It only comes in the gallon or a case.
Its about 30+ and the S/H. "

Any suggestion on best procedure for flush ? What ratio of KOOL CLEAN to use when flush? This radiator is really ruff, are there any pitfalls to avoid when flushing?

As always, Thanks.....

I use about a quart for flushing, it's important to mix with fresh water...mixed coolant will neutralize the acid. The active ingredient is phosphoric acid, I run the engine with the cap on while using the product and reverse the heater core connections to reverse flush the core. I prop the throttle at high idle and let her run for half an hour, repeat for heavy deposits.

CLR has too much detergent and foams...a lot!
