I guess I wasn't clear. What I was suggesting is that a short section of straight hose (about 2" long) is used as a bushing. Slide this short section of hose over the fitting on the radiator then slide the real radiator hose over this short section and put a hose clamp on the whole thing. The short straight section just acts as a spacer between the fitting on the radiator and the ID of the full hose. I've done this before and it works fine.
