rag joint interchangaable?

I recently purchased a 12:1 ratio steering box with a 3/4" x 30 spline input shaft. My lower half of my rag joint coupler connects directly to this input gear. My problem is that my current box has a 13/16" 36 spline. I want to know if i can take a 3/4" 30 spline lower half and bolt it to my existing upper half??? Are they the same diameter etc. with the exception of spline acceptance?? Thank you.

Yep, that stuff is all interchangeable. Jsut depends on how the engineer's wife treated him the night before whether he used splines, double-D, etc., shaft ends.
