raised numbers-body dat plate
i have a 1931 ford cpe. and a blank body data plate . i would like to have the serial number stamped in raised numbers on the data plate . i have owned this car since the 60 s and the orig. engine is long gone. i know that i could stamp the numbers but i am looking for riased numbers. thanks trooperty

These guys do it, but they are not cheap:
http://www.datatags.com/ You could go to the McMaster Carr site. They have embossing punches that are reversed letters and numbers designed to punch from the back side. I gather you are not trying to reproduce something that was not originally on a Model A but just want to have a nice looking serial number plate. |

The reproduction Body Tags for Briggs and Murray bodies had numbers which were simply sequential to the BODY not the car itself. Not that any DMV employee, inspector, or potential buyer would ever know that.
Get a metal stamp set and stamp the numbers matching your paperwork into the existing engine and frame rail. Done deal. |

Need help
Got in contact with the data plate recreator,he needs a picture of a 39 Plymouth pillar plate. Anybody have one?????
Some stupid person media blasted his off the car,could go to DMV for a replacement sticker, but it's not as cool.... |
