I made a ram air kit myself. It was very roughly done, but if you put a little more time in it you can get it quite nice.


I bought found two used snorkels. I think the 77' Caprice was equipped with a snorkel, and probably loads of other GM vehicles.


The tools I used


Sheet metal I found at the local metal dump


Here I've cut off the old airfilter box inlet. The best tip would be to find a box that was designed for a snorkel originally, and then attach the inlet of a second box.


Made a new inlet of the sheet metal, and pop nailed it to the box. I filled the gaps with sicaflex.


Both inlets in place. The right one is longer due to some rough measurements.

After paint. The left snorkel is in the factory position (fan shroud has bolt points for the snorkel).
