ram jet 454 zl1 #105

low oil pressure 10 pounds checked oil pump all plugs are tight going to try 50 wt oil only ran it for about a minute to scared to warm up though please someone help

Is the 10 lbs. at idle? When you say "checked oil pump", what did you do to check it?
Could be a defective gauge or air in the line.
Could be a bad oil filter. Do you have a Fram filter on it? If so, replace it with a Wix or Puralator. Make sure you fill the oil filter before installing it.

Noisy ?

Hey 23, Is it making noise? (are the lifters tapping?)(is the engine knocking?) If it's not making noise, you could just have a mismatched oil pressure sending unit/ gauge. Or a partial blockage in the sending unit, it happens occasionally on new engines. Let us know.olnolan

yes the 10# is at idle i put a snap on oil pressure gauage on it there is no unusual noise i put a remote oil filter stanless screen but also tried with paper filter same pressure . on checking pump just visually checked for un even wear on gears gettin a hvhp pump i do get 35 40 pounds at 3grand
thanks any other ideas whats normal idle pressure

that's what ya get for buying a GM Cratemotor.... just kidding... i saw on a hotrodding show that low oil pressure on a GM crate is ' normal'.
