Ramp sliding.

Has any one come up with a simple solution to stop those damn drive up ramps from sliding on a garage floor.

Ramp sliding

Just weld/bolt a "tongue" onto the front so that the car wheel sits on the flat "tongue" and holds the whole works in place as it climbs the ramp itself

I fought that problem for decades.

Finally solved it by cutting a 3 ft long 2x8 to fit between the ramp
edges, and drilling 2 holes to bolt the board onto the ramp end.

This basically extended the ramp and gave a smaller drive-up angle.
Works great.

drill holes

I just grab my Bosch Bulldog concrete drill and poke a couple holes in the floor, I have welded a piece of angle iron across the front and bolts sticking down to pin into the concrete, I put on the safety face mask and blow out the dirt every so often.

Ramp sliding

Thanks for all the feed back. I am sure now that I will solve the problem thanks to all your simple logical solutions. Usually I amaze myself some times with a problem solving solution that I pull out of some where ( usually my A**) but on this one I missed the Short Bus.
