Randy's Metal meet!

Hey guys,
just got a phone call from someone that went to Randy Ferguson's metal meet.
He had to leave today but said there were about 250 people there.
Wish I could have went but the NACE show next week, He said Randy is also holding it next year.

That' s awesome, I would love to attend something like that. Metal shaping is something I would really like to learn to do. It seems every project I have needs something done to it and if it doesn't I could come up with something.

Hi Guys,
Just to clarify. It's not MY MetalMeet, but rather OUR MetalMeet. (The world-wide metalshaping community) I'm simply the host of our annual event, which continues to grow each year. We will be changing the location and date for '05, as we have outgrown my backyard. We're shooting for the Crawford County IL. fair grounds for next year and trying to work the event into mid to late September. For more info, check out www.metalmeet.com

Boy, Dinger, you know how to rub salt into a wound!! I was on a South American lecture tour for the Society of Petroleum Engineers and had to miss the CHRR. Trust me, it was a VERY painful experience. Especially since because I had to miss the meet but also because I was in 5 cities in 5 days (including a leg from Rio de Janeiro/Miami 5hr layover/Caracas in 18 hrs.

I don't like hearing that the attendance @ the CHRR was down - sure don't want to lose that meet. Only alternative is the GoodGuys events and they have cut those down to 2-days so they can turn more profit. GoodGuys is the most self-promoting, money-grubbing organizations going.

Hey Randy. September 05 you say? I've been looking for the thread on MM05 but haven't seen it yet, i thought about starting one, but i'd just wait. i will be there. sept 05, i'm going to request the whole month off, i can get it, and have the time for it. i will be there.

i don't know about a lesson, but i guess you might know this already. but i am going to have an aluminum front ended ford f150 someday. even if i have to do it myself. but a ford truck is not a lesson for a hotrod board, unless it was a late 50's or earlier......

i'd rather learn how to build a duece coupe but with more legroom type body in my garage with my hammers and beaters and stuff. who needs a top?

damn right.
