Ranger 460 Conversion

Ok I have now gotten rid off all of my toys (except my daily driver) to make room for my biggest and best plan of all(for me anyways). In about three weeks i'm going to buy a 1988 Ford Ranger which has a blown up motor for 200 bucks. And I was wondering what I would have to do to beef up my front end to put in a 460. Cuz I knew with that big of motor the stock four cylinder springs and stuff just wont cut it. And also I was going to put in a C6 tranny so I need to know what I have to do to make it all work and where to get the parts for it. And someone told me that is you cut off the back of the frame and customize it to run fatter tires it was illegal to do in Illinois so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You won't like it! Too much frontal weight. Wallowy, terrible handling. Major surgery to engine compartment/floor pan. Few parts available. Not worth effort.

Now, go get a 302-351 and Hedman sells an easy kit to install. Just cut a chunk out of the heater core cover. Install the kit/engine. Fab some exhaust and you will be burning the tires for blocks and having more fun than a barrel of monkeys.. BEEN there done that. Got the hat and T-shirt...
