I was thinking about this for a while and I want to know what you guys think about mt idea of building a hotrod or a rat rod or a rolling deathtrap on wheels (I don't know which one applies).

The frame would be a pickup or cargo van frame (probably from a junkyard), it would stay the same size and probably the same height.

The suspension would also be the same, no changes.

The engine would probably be un changed besides maybe some spray paint to make it LOOK new

The new body would be some sheetmeatal and steel tubes for strength, the seats would be probably a modified couch with seat belts or the stock seats, ether way there would be a bench seat. and maybe a second bench seat in the back.

short of that, everything would be reused or modified from the original car, to save money. Also I would like to do as much as the work myself as possible.


So what do you guys think? I know it's crazy but how crazy and could it work, I can provide and info or pictures you like and any comments, suggestions would be welcome!

Its not a crazy idea, it has been done many, many times. Go for it, you don't have to break the bank and buy all the billet stuff to build and enjoy a hot rod.
