I am totally agree with you. You are 100% good here that tried the pep boys Dupli shade prepared combined quarts and eliminated it with a two part clear...

Well Alexandro, I do have a comment. If what your painting doesn't require a near to exact color match, then go ahead, use whatever base coat your heart desires. Unfortunately, what I paint, I want the color to be precise and if need be, be able to be matched several years down the road so for me to use Duplicolor really isn't an option. If I had something that didn't require near to exact color match, I still wouldn't use Duplicolor. I know the product that I'm using now, I'm comfortable with it, my customers are prepared to pay the price for higher end base coat and clear coats so there is no need or want for me to change from what I'm doing....but if you want to use Duplicolor...go ahead, fill your boots.
