raybestos slotted and drilled rotors
does anyone else have set of the new raybestos slotted and drilled rotors ? They sound like a frig in synthesizer when you lay on the pads hard . I am very disappointed
I have them on a G20 Chevy van with ssrd pads. I hope it will dissipate but it does not seem to be getting quieter as time goes on. |
What year? Did you bend the tabs on the pads tight against the caliper?
|
Of coarse I bent the tabs. One problem and Raybestos has yet to reply to my email is that the rotor marked L came out of the R box and vice versa. I installed them with the slots laying back with the wheel rotation. I may switch them to see if it makes a difference.
I guess I am disappointed in the tech line for not responding to two emails. |
Do the rotors have directional vanes or straight vanes?
The slots should go "forward" (i.e. at the top of the the rotor the vane should start at the ID and go forward to the OD). |
thanks for the info I think I will change them right to left.

Saw a durango the other day had all 4 crossdrilled/slotted rotors on backwards......should stop better when you turn them around too
