I'm disassembling a Ford 1100 carb for rebuild. I want to let it soak in carb cleaner for a couple of hours, but I'm not sure whether or not that would damage the power assembly. I'm not sure what rubber pieces are inside the power assembly but I've been told it shouldn't be removed. Will it be safe to soak the carb for a couple of hours with the power assembly?
Well I know that you would normally only soak the metal parts. However, everything I've read says you cannot take the power assembly out. So the carb is completely disassembled and ready for cleaning, but the plastic venture and the power assembly are still in and I'm not sure how to remove them. But thanks for the reply.

Yes it would, carb cleaner depending upon type would either dissolve the non metal parts or cause them to expand from which they do not contract when removed. either way these rubber or plastic parts are ruined.
